Scorbunny, Charmander, and Pichu Cake

Another Pokémon cake request! From my nephew, so one of my favorite people 😊 He wanted specific Pokémon incorporated, and I wanted the finished cake to look different from previous Pokémon treats I have made. We both ended up happy with the results!

 

I had fondant available, so made characters primarily out of fondant colored using food gel. I also used toothpicks to provide extra structure. I prefer to use gumpaste rather than fondant for character work, because it dries harder. I worked with what I had though! Crisco and cornstarch are helpful additional tools when working with either gumpaste or fondant.

My new edible markers were excellent! I enjoyed using them on the dried character forms to add small details. 

 

The cake was well received and delicious too! 😋 

 

King of the Hill Cake

My fiancé (!!!) and I have been watching a lot of King of the Hill lately, so that’s what I made for his birthday! 😊

I should have made these a couple days ago but they dried enough by the time I was done icing the cake. 

My new edible pen is one of my favorite things- really makes fine detail work so much easier and cleaner. 

Wingo! Shashashasha! Someone’s got a birthday, I wonder who? 

 

Animal Heart Cookies

Happy Valentine’s Day! I decided to create some of my favorite animals on heart cookies this year 😊

Engagement Cookies

My first set of Valentine's cookies this year are extra special- they're my set of engagement cookies!!! :) I had a lot of fun putting these together and breaking out a few new decorating tools to make my aqua and black cookie-fied dreams come true. 

This was my first time using isomalt- I used isomalt with a silicone mold in order to make edible diamonds. And then iced the plate with them. 

They turned out so beautiful! I can't wait to use this technique again in the future. It was difficult to get a picture that really did my "diamonds" justice.
