I thought it would be fun and interactive to make a bathtub cake with rubber duckies for Phillip's 1st birthday! As you can see, I also made him his own personal cake to enjoy...he enjoyed it very much.! :) To make the bathtub, I stacked two rectangular cakes and carved out the center. I made gumpaste duckies, bubbles, and faucet. I looked up different techniques and decided to use blue jello as the "bathwater"- it ended up working really well, since the bubbles and duckies bobbed around in it. When we cut the cake, the "bathwater" slowly oozed out, which was fun for all my little cousins (& big cousins) to watch!
